Chiara Riechel

Blessed by God as the manager at Autumn Leaves Farm, I have also been given the opportunity and became qualified as an Equine Behavioral Specialist. I have successfully passed EQASA’s module 1, and am currently studying to be module 3 EQASA qualified by December 2021.

Managing the riding and livery yard, I have the opportunity to facilitate a safe and encouraging environment that helps clients improve their riding skills, as well as, their confidence around horses, thereby strengthening and expanding their own role repertoires.

The enhancement in each client’s life, along with, the development in their personal relationships with their families and the horses, has been a large encouragement for me to continue as a catalytic agent in the empowerment of the lives of individuals through Equine Assisted Psychotherapy.

I have my honours in psychology and I have always been interested in helping people, especially children, to find themselves. Having grown up with horses forever present in my life, I had a particular interest in combining the therapeutic effects of being around them with mainstream psychology. This was made possible by qualifying through EAPISA. I am a registered counsellor and my passion has been working with children who have autism, ADHD or other social and learning difficulties.

I've completed the bronze level for Equine Assisted Psychotherapy and will be doing the silver level this year 2021. I am currently studying an honors degree in Health Sciences through the Open University.

I've ridden and worked with horses for 13 years. I have a passion for therapy and helping others, and EAPISA helps me accomplish this. I have job shadowed and volunteered at therapy riding schools, therapy dance schools, physiotherapists and occupational therapists, to better my understanding of individuals. I have a goal to combine dancing, physiotherapy and horses as one therapy for different individuals including special needs.
